Specialized makes organizational changes

Published June 22, 2016

MORGAN HILL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Specialized has promoted several staff in an effort to "bring our leaders closer to retail partners," the company said. It has also eliminated five positions as part of a restructuring.

The changes to its U.S. organization include the promotions of the following:

  • Tom Larter has been appointed the leader of the sales operations and program management role.
  • Dan Sluzas and Matt Proctor will lead East and West business development.
  • Olivia Bleitz will provide focused leadership on key category priorities.
  • Brandon Proctor and Nick Margadonne have been elevated to the senior sales team alongside Mike Carr and Bill Schulman.
  • Megan Sands will lead the USA marketing team.
  • Amanda Lau has been promoted to strategic account manager.
  • Rebecca Karbon, Brian Van Pelt and Jason Emmanuel will pivot from sales management to market development.

"While the market is not easy right now, our USA sales numbers remain up over last year," the company told BRAIN.

With the shift in the organizational structure of its USA office, Specialized said it eliminated five positions. Specialized reduced its staff size by about 3 percent earlier this year.

"The team focused on where we are going," the company said. "The decisions made were based on being the brand of choice for riders and our retail partners. We believe in investing in our team and creating growth opportunities within the organization."
