Duro Tire & Wheel hires Katrina Huang and Luke Musselman

COVINGTON, Ga. (BRAIN) — Hwa Fong Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd., the parent company of Duro Tire & Wheel, has appointed Katrina Huang to president of its North American subsidiary and Luke Musselman as director of business development, with a focus on the global bicycle market.

Huang has a background in the portable electronics industry and was most recently manager of a company that supplied mobile accesories to Wal-Mart.

Musselman is a bike industry veteran, having worked at Cannondale, Hayes Performance Systems and most recently BOS Suspension, where he served as director of global sales and marketing. Musselman will continue to serve on the Bicycle Products Suppliers Association's Statistics Committee and the Bicycle Leadership Conference Planning Committee.

“Hwa Fong’s position in the market as a key supplier to some of the world’s leading tire and tube brands proves its operational excellence and capabilities,” Musselman said. “I’m excited to be a part of such a forward-looking team, one that recognizes the importance of the bicycle as a key component of the overall transportation market. I look forward to expanding the distribution of the Duro brand as well as our ēvolve line of e-bike tires throughout the world.”

Hwa Fong said it is investing in bike-related infrastructure. Its new R&D center in Taichung, Taiwan, is slated to employ as many as 100 people, a quarter of whom will hold advanced degrees.

Duro Tire & Wheel also has joined industry groups including the BPSA and PeopleForBikes.
