QBP no longer plans a paper catalog

Published November 3, 2016

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Forests around the world breathed a sigh of relief on hearing that QBP will no longer produce a print catalog for its dealers.

"QBP believes that focusing its efforts exclusively on the well-established QBP.com dealer site will better serve shops with the superior format for communicating available inventory, tech, dealer account information, news, and more," the distributor announced this week.

QBP's printed catalog "was an essential part of our growth and success," said Larry Katz, longtime employee and purchaser. "By providing all the important details of each product, the publication became known as the 'industry bible' long before QBP was the largest distributor."

The company said 95 percent of its dealer orders are now placed online.

The distributor has built a webpage that shows the evolution of its catalog over 35 years, including its first 8-page photocopied price list.
