Recumbent trike maker TerraTrike hires Pale Morning Media for PR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (BRAIN) — TerraTrike, which claims to be the largest U.S. manufacturer of recumbent tricycles and tricycle accessories, has hired Pale Morning Media to do public relations promoting its new designs.

"TerraTrike was founded on the idea of building the most unique, comfortable and easy-to-use bicycles in the world, and along the way we ended up creating a remarkable and passionate community," said Jeff Yonker, TerraTrike marketing director. "Our fans are the ones driving our business growth, and our coming innovations are really a tribute to their dedication."

TerraTrike was founded 20 years ago by Jack Wiswell and Wayne Oom, who launched the brand with a simple sketch on the back of a cocktail napkin. Over the last two years, TerraTrike has seen significant growth and reached the milestone of more than 200 dealers nationwide. Since 2007, the company's annual sales have grown by 300 percent.

TerraTrike said its growth is being fueled by two groups: avid cyclists who prefer the sturdy comfort of TerraTrike for bike camping, bike touring and commuting; and baby boomers, who, the company noted, are retiring at a rate of 10,000 per day and are drawn to the trikes' comfort and convenience.

"TerraTrike is a different type of company making a different type of bicycle — but their success is rooted in the fact that they've created a bike that's truly made for everyone," said Drew Simmons, founder and president of Pale Morning Media.

Pale Morning Media is a traditional and digital public relations agency with a growing roster of brands in a wide array of outdoor and lifestyle markets.
