TORONTO (BRAIN) — Cervélo has donated 10 of its C3 model bikes to Wounded Warriors Canada to support the group's VIMY 100 Battlefield Bike Ride fundraising efforts.

Beginning June 9 in London, England, 150 Canadians will ride over 600 km in 6 days to reach the Vimy Ridge memorial. The Battlefield Bike Ride represents the single largest annual fundraiser for Wounded Warriors Canada, with the funds raised directly supporting the group's mental health programs and services benefiting ill and injured Canadian Forces members, veterans, first responders and their families.

Scott Maxwell, the executive director of Wounded Warriors Canada, said, "Cervélo is the reason we were able to get involved in cycling. Since 2012, the company has been generously donating their world class bikes to not only help us fundraise, but to help inspire ill and injured veterans to become active again. The company and its employees are passionately committed to health and wellness and understand the positive impact of cycling for both body and mind. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support."

Glen Innes, WWC BBR17's ride director and a Cervélo territory manager, said, "Here at Cervélo we understand how important a healthy body is to a healthy mind. If we can get more ill and injured Veterans and First Responders riding bicycles we can aid them in their battle with this and other Operational Stress Injuries."

Cervélo has been the presenting sponsor of the ride since 2015. After each ride the Cervélo road bikes are auctioned off.
