Bkool adds wind simulation and other new features to trainer software

Published December 24, 2014

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (BRAIN) — Indoor riders will be able to experience wind resistance — pinned to actual conditions on the simulated course they are riding — in a new update to Bkool's Indoor simulator software for Mac, Windows and Android.

The Bkool software will retrieve online weather condition data for the location to simulate head or crosswinds in the optional feature. Other new features include a guest mode that allows someone to test out the software without setting up an account; a new "Write on the Road" feature that allows users to leave messages on the simulated road for other users to read; in-app registration (eliminating the need to go to the website to create an account); the ability to add training notes to session files; and the ability to use the software with more types of trainers, including those without electronic controllable resistance.

The Bkool Pro trainer retails for $649.99 and the Bkool Indoor software is a free download. There is a free subscription to the online service, as well as a $15 per month premium subscription option that unlocks other features.

The new version of the Bkool Indoor simulator software is available now at bkool.com. Bkool trainers are distributed in the U.S. by Hans Johnsen, Downeast Bicycle Specialists, and Wilson Bicycle Sales.
