Published August 8, 2016

CANTON, Mass. (BRAIN) — Lock brand Kryptonite is expanding into lights with a new line of USB-rechargeable front and rear models that will be available to U.S. independent bike dealers exclusively through Hawley.

The new Street Light Series includes five models with multiple configurations offering a wide variety of functions. All lights are compact in size and are backed by a two-year limited warranty.

Prices start at $19.95 for the 14-lumen Avenue Rear light and go up to $34.95 for the 275-lumen Alley Front model. Front and rear lights will also be available as matched sets.

“It’s an exciting time as we begin our expansion into the lights category,” said Nick Watkin, Kryptonite’s general manager. “We are thrilled to now offer additional peace of mind to customers who have trusted us for more than 40 years with keeping their bikes secure. From our experience within the security category, we are well positioned to become a leader within the lights category as we remain focused on a rider’s primary safety and security needs.”

Jim Bryan-Kanda, Hawley-Lambert product management and U.S. team lead, said: “We at Hawley are incredibly excited at this exclusive opportunity. Knowing Kryptonite’s heritage within the IBD, their strong history within the U.S. lock category and the ease in which they do business made the decision easy. Couple this with the fact that safety and security are two of the most stable categories on a dealer’s wall makes this a great opportunity for all.”
