WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN)—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Electra Bicycle Company, have announced a voluntary recall of about 6,400 Electra bicycles with front trays or baskets from 2009 (3,000 units were previously recalled in March 2009).

EUGENE, OR (BRAIN)—Burley Design, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has voluntarily recalled its 2009 d’lite ST and Solo ST Child Trailers. Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN)—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Nirve Sports, has issued a voluntary recall of about 120 Cannibal bicycles.

The bicycle stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of serious injury if the rider falls.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN)—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Felt Bicycles, has issued a voluntary recall of about 1,500 Felt F1X cyclocross bicycles from 2007/2008.

The manufacturer is Aprebic/EVO Industry Co. Ltd., of Taiwan.

CHICAGO, IL (BRAIN)—SRAM is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to announce a voluntary recall on its 10 speed PowerLock chain connector. SRAM has determined there is a potential for the PowerLock connector link outer plate to fail.

The bicycle frame can crack and separate, causing a rider to fall from the bicycle and suffer injuries.

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Salsa Cycles recalled 8,600 CroMoto SUL Salsa threadless and quill stems on Thursday due to a defect that can cause the part to break.

BERKELEY, CA (BRAIN)—Clif Bar and others have issued a voluntary recall on certain bars that contain peanut products that were manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), which is the focus of an ongoing Salmonella investigation.
