Specialized recalls Flux and Stix lights

MORGAN HILL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Specialized Bicycle Components is recalling its Flux and Stix headlights and taillights due to potentially overheating, posing fire and burn hazards.

Models affected include:

  • Flux Expert Headlight
  • Flux Elite Headlight
  • Flux Expert Tailight
  • Stix Comp Headlight
  • Stix Comp Taillight
  • Stix Sport Headlight
  • Stix Sport Taillight
  • Stix Sport Headlight and Taillight Combo

"While a recall is not convenient for riders, we pride ourselves in keeping riders safe and will work closely with individuals to ensure they receive updated and replacement lights as quickly as possible," said Slate Olson, Specialized chief marketing officer.

Specialized is asking consumers to return their lights to their authorized Specialized shop. Those who purchased them direct from the company should call Rider Care at (800) 722-4423.

Specialized will upgrade the firmware on the Flux Headlight and provide consumers with upgrade instructions. The company will replace Flux Expert Taillights with the latest approved model. The company also will exchange Stix lights for new ones at no charge to the consumer.
