Selling Cycling Boosting Supplier Training

Published October 16, 2007

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Following its most successful season ever in 2007, with over 1300 participating retailers and 75 supplier brands, Selling Cycling is undergoing a thorough upgrade for 2008, with all-new content in every area.

Stop by the SmartEtailing booth at Interbike for retailer program details.

Of special interest to suppliers are Selling Cycling’s new Custom Training Modules (CTM), Flash-based instruction with quizzes and swag to reward shop staff for training success. Growth Cycle recently built a CTM for Scott USA, and is using it as a demo for other suppliers.

"I've been asking Ray for years for more brand and technology specific training for Scott bikes as part of Selling Cycling. Now Growth Cycle is offering these Flash-based custom training modules for 2008, and we’re psyched,” said Scott Montgomery of Scott USA.

CTMs will be attached to Selling Cycling, between the Category and Product SKU training. When a retailer picks SKUs from a brand that has a CTM on the system, store personnel will have the opportunity to view the interactive presentation and get swagged for successful learning.

Suppliers will also have the option of attaching the CTM to their own Web sites or dealer portals, as well as creating a consumer module with a different voice and focus. “Suppliers want training effectiveness, versatility and a reasonable cost, and we’re delivering all three,” enthused Growth Cycle President Ray Keener.

“It's just what we need to get shop staff up to speed on who we are and our core technologies, and it's surprisingly affordable compared to the other options,” Montgomery said. “Best of all, it is interesting, concise and allows staff to study and learn on their own, between sales calls."
