New Giant store includes dedicated women’s shop

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (BRAIN) — Phoenix-area retailer Rick Marquis held a grand opening celebration this past weekend for his new Giant Scottsdale store.

The 5,000-square-foot store sells Giant bicycles exclusively and includes a 700-square-foot store-within-a-store — complete with a separate entrance — dedicated to the Liv/Giant women’s brand.

“Not only are we better able to carry the products that women cyclists are truly looking for, but it’s easier for us now to create a community. We are sending a message that we take women seriously,” Marquis said.

“We paid attention to the details that appeal to women when shopping,” said Reuben Hernandez, Giant’s merchandising manager. “From the paint, flooring, wallpaper, lighting, fixtures, graphics and furnishings, the space turned out even better than we envisioned. We even added a dedicated cash wrap to keep transactions in the same space.”

Giant Scottsdale is Marquis’ second store; he also operates Phoenix shop Javelina Cycles, which opened two years ago.
