New Bay Area retailer opens as Giant Partner Store

Published May 6, 2016

LIVERMORE, Calif. (BRAIN) — New retailers Chris Beratlis and Chris Bourguet recently celebrated the opening of My Buddy's Bike Shop in Livermore. The 2,700-square-foot Giant Partner Store opened in February with the help of Giant's Retail Services team, which determined the layout, color scheme, graphics and fixture design.

"Customers do really notice the layout and organization of the shop," Bourguet said. "In fact, they usually compliment us for that. Once customers walk in, they get a huge grin and usually say something like, 'How long have you been here, because I've never noticed you before?' "

The Giant Partner Store designation means most of the floor space is dedicated to Giant, Liv and Momentum products. My Buddy's Bike Shop features an open service department and a space dedicated solely to Liv women's bikes and gear.

"It has been a real pleasure to work with the two Chris's. Their motivation from the start has been to develop an outstanding customer experience in an environment that allows them to share their passion for bicycling," said Timothy Johnson, retail services executive at Giant. "This is truly a family-owned business, a feeling that extends well into the community. My Buddy's Bike Shop is a perfect match for the Giant Partner Store program."

This grand opening marks a significant expansion in the region of all the Giant brands.

"We're focusing growth in Northern California, and My Buddy's Bike Shop is an enormous addition to our retail network," said Karsten Hagen, Giant's Northwest regional sales manager.

"With the two Chris's vision, we're able to further provide a large region with the full range of our products, and showcase our three brands in a professional, eye-catching and welcoming way."
