First Liv store in Canada to open this week

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Liv Vancouver, the women’s brand’s first store in Canada, is set to open this Thursday, with a grand opening celebration planned for Feb. 17.

Store owner Anne Marie-Gagnon said she is eager to create a retail experience that meets the needs of women like her — active women seeking high-end products that offer quality, performance, style and comfort.

“I want this store to be as high end and professional as the best bike store you may know, but focusing on women's needs,” she said. In addition to Liv brand bikes, clothing and accessories, the store will stock women’s helmets, shoes, saddles, eyewear and other products from complementary brands.

Gagnon previously opened Giant Bicycle’s first Canadian concept store in Montreal, and in 2013 Giant offered her the opportunity to relocate and take over the brand’s Vancouver location. The new Liv Vancouver store is next to the Giant Vancouver store in the city’s West 4th shopping district.

Gagnon hopes to make Liv Vancouver a hub for women’s cycling where female riders can gather and share their cycling experiences, learn about bikes over coffee from the store’s high-end espresso maker, and attend clinics, rides and other shop events.

“Cycling has brought me so much joy and so many adventures over the years. I would like to help other women create their own memorable experiences with bikes. I want to share the freedom a bicycle can bring,” she said.
Liv Vancouver is accepting applications for sales and customers service positions. Details are available at livcyclingvancouver.com.
