News reports say retailer Paul Dragan is in critical but stable condition after shooting.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Vancouver bike retailer Paul Dragan is in the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to news reports, after being shot Tuesday at a Starbucks across the street from one of his stores.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (BRAIN) — Australian athletic apparel brand 2XU recently celebrated the opening of its new retail store in Orange County. The company, known for its compression apparel and accessories, has also appointed its first president of 2XU USA.

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Portland's Community Cycling Center, the city's first nonprofit bike shop, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.

This week, the Center launched an anniversary campaign video (below) featuring its founder, Brian Lacy.

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (BRAIN) — Students in Northeast Ohio rode 41,179 miles in last month's Century Cycles Bike To School Challenge, which is sponsored by a local bike retailer and Raleigh Bicycles.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. SEATTLE (BRAIN) —Chrome Industries has opened a new retail store in Seattle — the sixth Chrome HUB for the urban bag and apparel maker.

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Gladys Bikes, a women's-focused shop in Portland, Oregon, moved into a larger space two miles away from its original home with the help of about 70 locals who rode or carried the store's inventory and store displays and belongings on bike trailers and cargo bikes last Saturday.
