WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — U.S. Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) and Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.), co-chairs of the Congressional Bike Caucus, introduced the Bikeshare Transit Act on Thursday. The legislation would provide local communities additional flexibility to use federal funds for bike share programs.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Santa Monica is debuting its latest environmental initiative: Breeze Bike Share, presented by Hulu, this week. The program will offer 500 bikes across 75 stations and provide residents with a sustainable way to get around town, according to city manager Rick Cole.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (BRAIN) — The city of Santa Monica’s Breeze Bike Share program has landed premium streaming television service Hulu LLC as the program’s sponsor, securing a five-year commitment. Hulu employs more than 500 workers in Santa Monica.

MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Canadian company Bewegen will supply about 400 bikes, including 100 e-bikes for a citywide bike share program in Birmingham, Alabama. The program will launch this fall and include 40 docking stations. The company said it's the first bike share program in North America to include e-bikes.
