Content Creator - NBDA

The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) is hiring for a Part Time Content Creator. This is a remote position with a start date of Jan 1, 2023.

Scope: The Content Creator is a part time employee of the NBDA whose position and tasks will be focused on support of current and developing NBDA programming. As the content creator, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing and editing content for NBDA Programming which will be published on the nonprofit’s websites and social media pages. You will also be responsible for researching key SEO terms and implementing them in the content to gain maximum exposure. Moreover, you will be expected to work simultaneously with the NBDA team to maintain consistency between member resources, programs, campaigns and content published. Candidates will also be required to brainstorm and suggest newer ways and platforms to increase member activation and increase organization reach. You will be utilizing phone and email outreach as well as assisting as needed at trade shows. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Rate of Pay $25 per hour
No Benefits
Location- Remote (1 in person Trade Show per year, August 2023 DTBD)
4 hours per day/ 20 hours per week
Start date - January 1, 2023
Specific hours and days to be set by Development Director
Reports to Development Director/ President

Duties Include:

Create various content types (videos, articles, infographics, podcasts, newsletter) with relevant tone and style, adhering to the respective style guides (Writing, reviewing, editing, and updating content)
Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
Promote and Incorporate content, blog and social media posts in both websites and social media (FB, IG, Linkedin, YouTube) and monitor engagement using social media to engage members, respond to questions or complaints, and to promote nonprofit initiatives.(e.g. comments and shares)
Utilize various digital publishing platforms to create materials needed
Update website as needed, review metrics
Conduct keyword research and employ SEO best practices to optimize content
Create, manage, and promote engagement in Slack channels for members
Analyze web traffic to measure the success of the content (e.g. conversion and bounce rates)
Interview industry professionals and incorporate their views in blog or radio podcast content
Research on industry-related topics to identify member needs, target content and recommend topics and focus on trending topics
Collaborate with NBDA Team to establish campaign objectives, design of promotional materials, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
Suggest new ways to promote offerings and to reach new members


Proficient in Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, and PPT
Experience with with digital publishing and generating traffic and leads for new businesses
Experience creating strong, engaging content
A portfolio of applicable outputs
A familiarity and understanding of SEO best practices
Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing
Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills
Strong listening and communication skills
The capacity to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy
