BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — In one of three ongoing collaborative efforts between PeopleForBikes and the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association, a wide-ranging survey will be sent out Tuesday to more than 400 current and potential members of each association.

MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Canadian company Bewegen will supply about 400 bikes, including 100 e-bikes for a citywide bike share program in Birmingham, Alabama. The program will launch this fall and include 40 docking stations. The company said it's the first bike share program in North America to include e-bikes.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (BRAIN) — Suspension brand MRP has hired two industry veterans for its sales and marketing team. 

Adam Micklin, more recent the director of global sales for Hayes Bicycle Group, joins MRP as its vice president of sales.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Two U.S. Senators have introduced legislation that would lower tariffs — currently as high as 30 percent — on some types of "recreational performance outerwear." Some cycling rain gear might be included in the clothing items that would see a tariff reduction.

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — With 5 percent growth in overall participation in 2013 and sales growth hitting double and single digits since 2010, the running market has stemmed recent sales and participation declines seen in other sports including biking and golf.
