Giant Bicycles Canada to open new store in Whistler

Published May 16, 2017

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) – Giant Bicycles Canada has announced the opening of its newest retail store, Giant Whistler, located in Whistler, B.C. The new store will hold a grand opening on Friday, May 19, the same day Whistler Bike Park opens for the season. The store will also host a launch party for friends, family and industry partners on Thursday.

The new store will serve Whistler year round, and is owned and operated by longtime Giant partner, John Inglis.

“We’ve been selling Giants since 1995,” said John Inglis, who also owns Whistler Bike Co., and another store in Pemberton, B.C. “We had talked about a Giant store in the past, and then this year everything just fell into place to make it happen.”

Giant Whistler will stock the latest bikes and products available from Giant and Liv. It will also have a rental fleet for testing bikes on the trails around the Whistler Valley.

“Giant Whistler was a really important project for us,” said Steve Devantier, Giant Canada’s retail development supervisor. “Whistler is such a key market on a global level. The trick for us was finding an independent partner that could still connect with locals and truly be a part of the Whistler community.”
