Superior Morgul Classic

You are invited to the Superior Morgul Classic Weekend in the town of Superior, Colorado this Memorial Day weekend—May 28, 29 and 30—for a bike race event including street sprints, a criterium and circuit road race, along with a host of other activities sure to please the entire family. The weekend will culminate on Sunday with the Morgul-Bismarck Bicycle Race, awards ceremony and concert.

Visitors to Superior can look forward to three days of competitive and family oriented
bike events for all ages and skill levels, as well as a food showcase highlighting healthful options for eating from area restaurants, a sports exposition, sustainability information and exhibits, along with other wellness-centered events. An art show will provide opportunities for both professional and local amateur artists. Over the course of the weekend, racers, families and spectators will also be treated to a wide variety of entertainment including opening act, The Hazel Miller Band, and many other well-known acts.

The Morgul-Bismarck Loop is a popular cycling route that was featured in the Red Zinger Bicycle Classic and subsequent Coors International Bicycle Classic from the late Seventies to 1988. The competitive bike race is sure to attract professionals from across the nation. It's set on a 13-mile loop and has three notable climbs. The final, mile-long climb is known as “the wall” and features a gradual incline culminating in a twelve percent grade. This circuit race is featured in the 1985 film, "American Flyers," and remains a popular route for bike enthusiasts today.
