VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN)—Pinkbike.com has hired renowned bike photographer Ian Hylands as photo editor.

Coming to Pinkbike fresh off a season as team photographer for Trek World Racing, Hylands shot all TWR North American events in 2010. In the past, he has worked as staff photographer for Decline magazine and was in charge of photography for the "TwentySix" photo annual that H3 Publications produced in 2006 and 2007, according to a press release.

Hylands works closely with Red Bull throughout North America, having covered the Red Bull Rampage since 2003, as well as major events such as Crashed Ice, Air Race and X-Fighters. In addition to his role as lead photog for many key endemics, Hylands has worked on ad campaigns and helped create catalogue imagery for Trek, Fox Racing, Specialized, Scott, Maxxis, Race Face and Marzocchi to name a few. His images have been used in countless magazine articles and features around the world.

"After contributing to Pinkbike for several years and covering a bunch of events for them last season, I'm stoked to actually be a part of the team. As the world news media continues to metamorphosize, Pinkbike is at the forefront, and I'm proud to be involved," Hylands said. "It's awesome to have such an amazing outlet for my work and I look forward to helping improve the quality of the imagery based content on the site."

Pinkbike’s Julian Coffey said, “I’m always blown away by how much of an innovator and technology freak Ian is. He is also obsessed with quality and detail, and always manages to capture the best moments with his lens.”
