NAHBS Sets Mid-Year Exhibitor Record

Published July 5, 2011

SPEEDWAY, IN (BRAIN)—The 2012 North American Handmade Bicycle Show, slated for Sacramento, California, March 2-4, continues its streak of success by surpassing booth and exhibitor sales expectations for the end of June, and is expected to sell out by Thanksgiving.

Lesley Schommer, the exhibitor services director of NAHBS, said, "At this point last year, we had 60 exhibitors signed up, which was a record. For the 2012 show, we already have 82 exhibitors, and have filled 113 out of 211 booths."

The Northern California/Oregon region contains the country's largest resident population of frame builders, which is thought to be a contributing factor to the unprecedented booth sales figures.

Show founder and president, Don Walker, said, "If NAHBS is on a roll it's because the handmade bicycle industry is on a roll. No doubt more consumers at the high end are realizing that supporting local artisans and manufacturers, and having a tailored fit and look, are worth more than a cookie cutter product for the same or more money."
