MARIETTA, GA (BRAIN)—BMX legend and master wheel builder John Kovachi passed away on Wednesday morning from kidney failure. He was 46.
The former BMX racer started Kovachi Wheels in Georgia in 1989.
PORTSMOUTH, UK (BRAIN)—Former Olympic cyclist Derek Bouchard-Hall has been hired by Wiggle as its head of performance development.

PHOENIX, AZ (BRAIN)—Domenic Malvestuto, a longtime bicycle retailer and influential figure in the Phoenix, Arizona, cycling community, died this month at his home in Phoenix after battling colon cancer. He was 68, and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Malvestuto.
GENT, Belgium (BRAIN)—Jacques Lenel, a former French retailer who played a key role in the formation of the European Two Wheelers Association (ETRA), has died.
