Preparations are well underway for the BPSA’s upcoming Bicycle Leadership Conference to be held once again in beautiful Monterey, California. Our conference committee is hard at work planning an exceptional series of sessions that we’re confident will stir conversation within your organizations on how to challenge ourselves and our staff in this changing marketplace.
Known as a sprawling and energetic “celebration of cycling,” Sea Otter is cycling’s North American season opener. Professional and amateur athletes alike make the annual pilgrimage to Sea Otter to participate in some of the sport’s most competitive and enduring events. Hundreds of pro cyclists, including national, world and Olympic champions, attend Sea Otter to race and meet with fans. Most of cycling’s racing disciplines are represented including mountain bike cross-country, downhill, dual slalom and short track racing. Road cyclists compete in circuit, criterium and road racing.
The Fruita Fat Tire Festival is a great tradition in the heart of Fruita, Colorado. Not only will the festival have live music and great riding, but it will also have a large expo open to the public. With 50 of the largest companies in the bike industry showcasing their services and products, you won’t walk away disappointed. The festival is also a great opportunity to demo some of the best bikes on the market.
Along with Marin and Cupertino in California, Crested Butte is one of the first places in the world where people started taking their bikes off roads and into the mountains for fun. And being Crested Butte, we came up with one of the most fun ways to get into the mountains: Crested Butte Bike Week. Filled with races, shenanigans, and more, the history of bike week is one of a mountain community bringing the best mountain bikers in the world to the home of mountain biking.
The annual Ride Sun Valley Bike Festival is a celebration of life on two wheels. Visitors can participate in or watch fast-paced races, or kick-back, saddle up and enjoy the summertime recreational offerings of iconic Sun Valley, Idaho. The four-day festival is host to endurance-, skill- and learning-based events centralized around all things cycling. Live music, bike clinics, demos, shuttle rides and the Scott Enduro Cup presented by Vittoria are waiting for you at this year’s festival.

The First Annual Bikepacking Summit will have all of that and more. Hosted at the New Terrain Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado – a cycling hub for the Rocky Mountain Front Range – the Bikepacking Summit is promised to be three days of riding, storytelling, and community building. With presenters, daily group rides and Colorado fare, this is an event not-to-be missed.
