IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Pedego Electric Bikes recently opened five new stores in Delray Beach, Fla., Southlands (Denver), Colo., Bend, Ore., Portland, Ore., and Redding, Calif. The new stores bump the store count for Pedego-branded locations up to more than 75.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — The first annual Electric Bike Expo in January will kickstart the six-month tour, allowing consumers to demo power-assisted e-bikes on a test track. Tour organizer Extra Energy Services North America launched its new indoor test track at Interbike.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (BRAIN) — California Gov. Jerry Brown on Wednesday signed into law a bill that modernizes e-bike regulations and ensures that they are treated like traditional bicycles instead of mopeds.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (BRAIN) — A groundbreaking e-bike measure backed by an industry lobbying effort gets its first hearing Monday in the California legislature. The hearing comes after the sponsor of a competing bill, supported by Pedego Electric Bikes, agreed to drop his bill in favor of the other measure.

MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Canadian company Bewegen will supply about 400 bikes, including 100 e-bikes for a citywide bike share program in Birmingham, Alabama. The program will launch this fall and include 40 docking stations. The company said it's the first bike share program in North America to include e-bikes.
