Reynolds Cycling Appoints New Managers

WEST JORDAN, UT (BRAIN)—Dean P. Gestal, chief executive officer of Reynolds Cycling, has appointed two new managers as part of a restructuring to focus specifically on the wheel business.

Andrew James will join Reynolds Cycling as European sales manager, while Ryan Green is the new warranty/technical sales manager for Reynolds Cycling.

Gestal said the two positions are key within the new Reynolds Cycling organization, which has restructured over the past three years to direct its attention to wheels.

Gestal said the Reynolds name is starting to catch on around the world and in Europe in particular. Three years ago Reynolds was doing very little business in Europe, he said, but it is now 50 percent of its business and growing. James will focus on European sales as well as International sales in budding markets such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Latin and South America.

Gestal said first-hand contact with the customer is critical in the high-end of the market, where it’s all about keeping the customer happy. Green will deliver that high-level customer service.

“We are very pleased to add Andrew James and Ryan Green to our team at Reynolds Cycling,” Gestal said. “Andrew’s extensive experience in product development and racing will add another dimension of support for our European distributors. Ryan’s great experience in the ski industry and his passion for cycling will enable him to do a great job as our new warranty/technical sales manager for Reynolds Cycling.”

Based in Oberdorf, Switzerland, James originally hails from Auckland, New Zealand and started bike racing at age 10. After gaining experience working in his father’s bike shop at 13, he started his career as a race mechanic. James was National Road Team mechanic for New Zealand, and then transferred to Europe where he worked as a team mechanic with TVM Farm Frites, Post Swiss and Phonak pro cycling teams. After his career as a team mechanic, James was a product manager with BMC bicycles and for the New Zealand's Sheppard Industries as product developer for Avanti Bicycles.

Based at Reynolds Cycling headquarters in West Jordan, Utah, Green brings 15 years of experience in the sporting goods industry. He has worked for The Rossignol Group in Park City, Utah, for the past 10 years as an Alpine and Nordic sales representative, marketing and promotions specialist and product manager. Green is a passionate cyclist who has competed in mountain, cross, road and tri events. Currently, Green is focused on triathlon and is training for age group national champs in August and hopes to qualify for the 2010 Triathlon World championships.
