Huffy Files Trademark Infringement Lawsuit
Share/Bookmark

LOUISVILLE, KY (BRAIN)—Huffy Corporation has sued Cafepress.com, maker of custom T-shirts and other items, over alleged trademark infringements.

“Cafepress.com is manufacturing and selling a line of products, such as T-shirts, hats, stickers and buttons using the mark Huffy, as demonstrated through its web site, www.cafepress.com/huffy,” said court documents filed in U.S. District Court in Louisville, Kentucky. The suit was filed Jan. 20.

Cafepress.com has since stopped selling Huffy marked products from its web page. Cafepress.com failed to return a call seeking comment on the lawsuit’s allegations.

Huffy’s president and CEO, Bill Smith, said the company doesn’t comment on pending litigation.

Huffy wants Cafepress.com to stop selling and destroy all Huffy branded products. The suit also demands that Huffy be awarded all profits realized by Cafepress.com along with any damages that might have been incurred to the Huffy name, the lawsuit said.
