World Bicycle Relief Receives Ethic Award
Share/Bookmark

CHICAGO, IL (BRAIN)—The German dealer association VSF has awarded their first ethic award to the World Bicycle Relief. President of World Bicycle Relief F.K. Day attended the ceremony in Berlin, Germany, to receive the award personally.

Day felt very proud to win this award and he accepted it on behalf of the people in Africa. To prove the impact of the power of bicycles in Africa he presented a touching movie about Mary Lewanika. The 17-year old student from Zambia is now able to cycle to school every day and get a proper education—just because she received a bike from World Bicycle Relief.

In a very emotional speech, Day, one of the founders of SRAM said, “At SRAM we produce components for some of the most powerful bikes and riders in the world. But the most powerful bike I have ever seen is a bike in the hands of a girl fighting for her education, or a bike in the hands of a mother fighting to feed her children.“
