New Magazine Will Target Older Cyclists
Share/Bookmark

ORLANDO, FL (BRAIN)—Turnstile Publishing is launching a new title called Masters Cycling in January. The magazine targets 40 year and older cyclists.

The company already publishes Masters Athletes, formerly called Geezer Jock.

“Masters Athlete is more successful than we expected. And what we found surveying our readers, is that most of our readers also cycle,” said Sean Callahan, Masters Athlete editor. “And according to USA Cycling, there are 40,000 masters cycling, and I expect many more are very active cyclists."

Masters Athlete has a circulation size of about 50,000 and is published eight times a year. Masters Cycling will be published quarterly. Both magazines have a cover price of $4.99. Callahan will be providing editorial oversight on Masters Cycling, and because of the magazine’s national event coverage, he expects to rely on numerous freelance writers. There will also be bike and component coverage in the magazine as well.

“Given the number of pre-publication subscriptions we have sold for Masters Cycling, we are getting real excited about its launch,” Callahan said. A five-issue introductory subscription to Masters Cycling runs $12.
