Secret Agent Publishing Doing Handmade

Published October 16, 2007

GUNNISON, CO (BRAIN)—Secret Agent Publishing, publisher of Mountain Flyer magazine, will publish the official show guide for the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) and distribute an expanded, post-show guide nationwide in 2008.

Inking a deal with distributor Ingram Periodicals, Secret Agent Publishing will circulate this special post-show guide—with bonus editorial content providing an insider’s view of the show—to bookstores, newsstands and Mountain Flyer subscribers.

Similar to the 2007 show guide, the 2008 version will contain biographies about exhibiting framebuilders along with photographs of their work, product reviews and stories of the trade. In the expanded post-show guide, articles on frame building and hand built bikes will augment Secret Agent Publishing’s comprehensive show guide, which will be printed in a four-color format on heavy-duty recycled paper.

With more than 100 exhibitors expected to display their work at the show, the official show guide should be a unique resource for images and information about custom framebuilders from all over the world.

“We published the show guide for 2007, and it was a big hit,” said publisher Brian Riepe. “The handmade custom bicycle niche is growing rapidly right now, and the show has grown exponentially in its four years of operation. We’re happy to provide a format in which these framebuilders can get more exposure and where custom bicycle fans can see their work, even if they can’t attend the show.”

The NAHBS is scheduled for February 8–10, 2008, in Portland, OR. Show attendees can pick up the guide at the show. After the show, the expanded post-show guide will be distributed nationwide at Barnes and Noble, Borders, REI and other independent bookstores throughout the Rocky Mountain region and mailed to Mountain Flyer subscribers.

“Distributing this unique keepsake guide nationwide as a special issue of Mountain Flyer magazine will give the exhibitors and the NAHBS even greater exposure while adding considerable value to advertisers and show sponsors,” Riepe added.
