Hon Speaking at Cycling Conference

Published April 13, 2009

DUARTE, CA (BRAIN)—Dahon will be participating for the second time in Velo-city, the largest international conference devoted to integrating cycling into public transportation policy.

Dahon founder and chief executive officer, David Hon, will be speaking at the conference and the company will be offering a special edition bicycle in partnership with the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF). This special folding bicycle commemorates both ECF and Dahon’s role in the promotion of green mobility over the past 25 years.

On Thursday, May 14, Hon will speak on the subject of intermodal mobility at the international conference, which runs from May 12-15 in Brussels. In his speech, Hon will examine the current and future role of folding and portable bicycles.

”In the last 25 years we have seen first-hand the varied ways that portable bikes are already contributing to a greener and better way of life,” Hon said. “City governments and transport authorities have eased regulations and opened new opportunities for commuters to use bikes as an intermodal means of personal mobility. These are very promising first steps into an even more widespread rethinking of transportation in the next few years.”

Hon will describe the role that folding bikes can play in the future of urban infrastructure and how Dahon’s vision of urban mobility can contribute to a new world of personal mobility, highlighting examples of folding and electric bikes and other light electric vehicles, as well as recent developments for bike rental schemes around the world.
