Wind tunnel trash talking commences ...

Published May 24, 2013

NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN) — Not long after Specialized unveiled its new wind tunnel, employees at Giant challenged the fellow Californian brand to a duel: Giant's Propel SL Advanced o versus the Specialized Venge S-Works Di2 in a head-to-head battle to determine, once and for all, who is the King of Aero.

A posting on Specialized’s Facebook page prompted Giant to put forth the challenge in a Facebook comment

Giant’s road product manager Jon Swanson and senior global product marketing manager Andrew Juskaitis said they would bring a Giant Propel Advanced SL 0 to Morgan Hill and put it in the wind tunnel, with proper supervision to test it against the Specialized Venge S-Works Di2.

Giant told BRAIN that they are serious about the proposition, and are waiting for Specialized to say ‘OK’. To sweeten the pot, they also say they will supply enough coffee and/or beer as is necessary to complete the challenge.

Specialized could not be reached for comment, but responded to the challenge on Facebook.

Thanks for the offer Giant Bicycles! After last week's launch of the Specialized Wind Tunnel, we're back in full testing mode and rolling toward the the next generation. After all, you don’t sit-up right after you attack. If you want to see how fast the Venge is, we've developed a great relationship over the past few years with the awesome team at the A2 Wind Tunnel. We'd be happy to get you in touch with them! #AeroisEverything
