Published June 2, 2017

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Interbike is working with its sister trade show, RFID Journal LIVE!, to offer the bike industry a seminar on RFID technology at this year's show.

The event will introduce retailers to the basics of the technology and how it can be applied to their businesses. It will be led by RFID Journal LIVE! editor and founder Mark Roberti and will take place on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 8-9 a.m.

"RFID has taken time to mature, but it's now at the point where it can reduce the amount of time required to take inventory in a store by 96 percent," said Roberti. "I think the bicycle industry will see the importance and benefit from this technology in the near future, and I'm glad to be able to participate at Interbike and to set the stage for their audience."

Roberti said the seminar will give an overview of the technology benefits, how it's being implemented in retail today, applications for IBD's and how to determine ROI from investing in RFID technology.

Interbike also announced that the full 2017 NBDA Super Seminar Series + content has been set, with sessions running from Tuesday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The NBDA series was designed to address the specific needs of the independent bicycle retailer in today's business climate. The seminars are available at no charge to all levels of shop staff.

"Interbike 2017 is shaping up to have one of the broadest and most comprehensive curriculum schedules that we've ever had," said Pat Hus, the vice president of Interbike. "From the RFID presentation, to technical seminars, niche content within triathlon, electric bike, bike fit and more, the value gained from shop staff will be tremendous."
