BKOOL adds weather conditions to its ride simulator

Published March 27, 2015

MADRID (BRAIN) — BKOOL has added live weather conditions to its ride simulator, allowing a rider to see the current weather conditions, including rain, snow or fog, on the screen and feel the effects of a head- or tailwind.

The weather feature, called RealWeather, is the latest addition to BKOOL's simulator, which already allows riders to map virtual routes on any road on the map. The system produces a 3D virtual world with landscapes typical of the region, with resistance matching the climbs and descents. The simulator also portrays the light conditions at dawn, in the morning, at dusk, and at night. Social features allow users to communicate via messages or voice and organize group rides or races.

The system works with any bike trainer that has ANT+ wireless communication.

The Bkool simulator, including RealWeather, can be downloaded from the comapny's webpage (www.bkool.com). The version including 3D simulation requires the payment of a monthly fee. Bkool is available worldwide and has seven languages. Bkool trainers are distributed in the U.S. by Hans Johnsen, Downeast Bicycle Specialists, and Wilson Bicycle Sales.
