Published December 18, 2009

HYATTSVILLE, MD (BRAIN)—Arrow Bicycle owners Chris Militello and Chris Davidson were recognized on Dec. 7 with the 2009 Hyattsville Volunteer Service Award for their commitment to community outreach and bicycle safety.

Arrow Bicycle has supported numerous events and activities since opening in May 2008 in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Militello and Davidson helped host the Hyattsville pit stop for National Bike to Work Day, organized a bike rodeo and helmet giveaway at National Night Out Against Crime and helped educated on summer safety issues at the Hyattsville Family Fun Night. Arrow Bikes and local club Route 1 Velo also brought Hyattsville’s first-ever cyclocross event to Magruder Park in Hyattsville this fall.

This event included a full day of USA Cycling sanctioned racing and raised money for the Special Olympics. In addition, Militello and Davidson continued their many years of coaching Prince George’s County Special Olympics Cycling Team.
