Westwood Cycle Becomes Giant Brand Store

Published May 19, 2011

WESTWOOD, NJ (BRAIN)—With its recent re-opening as a Giant Brand Store, Westwood Cycle becomes one of 27 shops that have been given this designation. As a GBS, Westwood prominently features Giant-themed imagery, colors and messaging. And about 80 percent of the store’s floor space is comprised of Giant bicycles.

Working with Giant, owner Mark Albert added 600 square feet to his service area and showroom in Westwood Cycle’s lower floor. That allowed for an additional redesign to the upper floor’s 2,500 square feet of space.

In business for almost 60 years, Westwood Cycle is a mainstay in the cycling community in New Jersey’s Bergen County. It caters to enthusiasts due to Albert’s long racing heritage, but also to the family cycling lifestyle.

“Working with Mark and his team presented a unique opportunity,” said Reuben Hernandez, Giant USA’s merchandising manager. “We designed an inviting and modern interior space, while preserving many of the existing structural details the store and its loyal customers have grown to know and love for nearly six decades.”

Westwood Cycle held a grand opening to show off its new look May 7 where it raffled off prizes.
