LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN) — Bicycle Retailer & Industry News staff will visit retailers in Miami, Salt Lake City and Austin next year as part of the magazine’s popular Dealer Tour program, which first launched in the fall of 2008.
Advanced Sports International, parent company of Fuji, SE Bikes, Kestrel, Breezer, Terry and Oval Concepts, returns as title sponsor of the BRAIN Dealer Tour in 2014, supplying a fleet of bikes for participants to ride.
Representatives from ASI will join editors and other sponsors and ride from shop to shop in each city. BRAIN staff will meet with owners and managers and post daily reports and photos on bicycleretailer.com as well as through its Facebook and Twitter feeds. The magazine will include market overviews of each city in a special editorial section in its March 15, June 15 and December 1 issues.
Editors and sponsors will visit stores in Miami, Florida, on Feb. 4-6; in Salt Lake City, Utah, May 20-22; and in Austin, Texas, Oct. 21-23.
“The BRAIN Dealer Tour gives us a chance to see the markets from a unique perspective,” said Kaitlyn Phillips, director of marketing for Advanced Sports International. “We can fly in and drive with our sales force to see retailers, but this opportunity helps us see what the bike culture and business is like, and how these retailers showcase our brands and products. Later this month, Bicycle Retailer staff will head to Seattle to visit retailers on the final dealer tour of this year, slated for Oct. 22-24, accompanied by representatives from main sponsors Raleigh America, Kali Protectives, TRP Brakes, Finish Line and supporting sponsors Interbike and PeopleForBikes.
