Combat Vets Pay It Forward

Bend, OR—Produced by Marine combat veterans Javier Romo and Carlos Vera, Connecting Bend MTB will take place in this October in the City of Bend Oregon.

Bend is a small city on the Deschutes River, in Oregon. West are the lakes and peaks of the Cascade Mountains, with extensive MTB trails. In town, a trail leads up Pilot Butte, an extinct volcano. The Veteran, First Responders, Caregivers, and their families will be treated to 4 days of group riding, resilience workshops, and social connecting hospitality that Bend is known for.

MTB rentals and other amenities will be provided by local businesses and veteran support groups.

"Since moving to this area, I have always wanted to show off how beautiful it truly is. No Vet Alone is a great organization and its leader, John Wordin has been doing great things for America's Finest for more than a decade. I am personal proof of how his program can change lives but most importantly I am proof that people can change lives. I've been blessed with a handful of people that have stepped forward to affect change in my life and John Wordin is one of them," stated Bend MTB Retreat organizer Javier Romo.

"We would like to thank Javier and Carlos for the dedication to improving the lives of their fellow veterans and first responders. To pay it forward by organizing this retreat is the ultimate way for veterans to help their fellow veterans improve their lives."

Bend has some of the best mountain bike trails in all of Oregon, helping make the city one of the top outdoor recreation destinations in the United States.
