Sacramento, California — Cinq, component brand under German bicycle manufacturer Tout Terrain, launched a Kickstarter campaign at the opening of the North American Handmade Bicycle Show for their new Pinion drop-bar road and trigger shifters, dubbed the “Shift:R Road for Pinion” and “Shift:R Tour for Pinion” respectively. Cinq decided Kickstarter was the right platform to tell their story, and bring the Pinion shifters to market. “This product has been a long time coming, and we want to launch it with a bang,” explains communications manager Damian Bradley. “This is Cinq's biggest project yet, and while we work hand-in-hand with Tout Terrain, we want to stand on our own two feet, build our brand, and work with consumers, retailers, framebuilders and OEM's and to bring these and future products to market.”

The Shift:R series are the first alternatives to the rotary shifters currently available for Pinion equipped bikes. “The integrated shifter-brake levers of the Shift:R Road provides drop-bar riders with the ergonomics and performance they are used to from today’s modern derailleur and hydraulic braking systems, with all the benefits of a Pinion gearbox,” says Bradley. “The trigger style Shift:R Tour finally offers flat-bar riders the choice between grip and trigger shifters.  The Shift:R series gives you the freedom to choose the shifters that work best for your bike, and the way you ride.” The company also hopes the Shift:R series will encourage framebuilders and the industry as a whole to more readily adopt Pinion gearboxes. “We would love look back in five or ten years and see that we were a catalyst, part of fundamental shift in bicycle drivetrain technology.”

Pinion has awarded the Shift:R Road for Pinion the "Pinion Certified Product" designation, showing their full support of the product.
