Calling for bicycle innovations: 

Last chance to register for the TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards 2020 until 16 December 2019

Exhibitors as well as non-exhibitors at Taipei Cycle Show 2020 (4 to 7 March) – Asia’s most important bicycle tradeshow – still have the chance to register for the TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards 2020 until 16 December 2019. This award honors outstanding designs in the bicycle industry and is recognized as a seal of quality assurance worldwide. It is organized by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TBA (Taiwan Bicycle Association) and executed by iF DESIGN ASIA Ltd. for the eighth time running.

Designers, manufacturers, sales representatives, importers and distributors in the bicycle industry from all over the world are invited to submit their design innovations to the following categories:

01. Complete bicycle
02. Parts and components
03. Cycling accessories
04. E-bikes & drive units
05. Smart cycling services

The Jury

A panel of well-known experts will meet in Taipei in January 2020 to evaluate all entries and select the winners based on the following criteria: Innovation and Elaboration, Functionality, Aesthetics, Responsibility and Positioning.

The jury panel includes Yoshiharu Sugawara (GK Design Group, Tokyo/Japan), Norbert Haller (ID berlin, Berlin/Germany), Georg Todtenbier(CRE8 DESIGN, Taipei/Taiwan), Johann Geiger (Dayeh University, Changhua County/Taiwan), Cesare Sun (Gearlab Co, Ltd., Taipei City/Taiwan), Marcus Solomon (XD Automotive and Industrial Design, Taipei/Taiwan) and Francois Liang (Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center, Taichung/Taiwan).

The Awards Ceremony

All winners will be honored on stage at the Taipei Cycle pre-show international press conference on 3 March 2020. The special award "Gold Award – Young Enterprise" will be given to start-ups founded after 1 January 2016 for special innovation and design achievements.

The exhibition

All award-winning products will be shown in a special exhibition from 4 to 7 March 2020 on the exhibition ground. They will also be showcased on the Taipei Cycle website, TBA website and on the world's largest digital design exhibition, on the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE.
