Former Irish champion with Grand Tour experience welcomed to the GCN team

7th January – Bath, UK: The Play Sports Group (PSG) is excited to announce the appointment of Conor Dunne as the newest presenter of its acclaimed road cycling channel, Global Cycling Network (GCN). Founded in 2013, GCN is home to the world's largest and fastest-growing road cycling community, currently attracting over 50 million video content views per month.

Conor has competed at the very highest level of road racing including the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España - a feat which earned him the self-proclaimed status as the tallest rider to ever finish a Grand Tour, standing at 2.04 metres!

Despite growing up in the UK, Conor is a proud Irishman and has raced for the Irish national team for the last nine years; which made it all the more special when he won the Irish National Road Race Championships in 2018. He has also earned an U23 Irish National Time Trial title in 2012 and bagged a stage of the An Post Ras in 2013.

Conor spent much of his career in Belgium, from racing there as a junior, to his final years racing professionally with both Aqua Blue Sport and Israel Cycling Academy.

Following his retirement Conor took on a bike packing adventure with American professional rider Larry Warbasse when the former team mates rode in the French Alps for over a week with nothing but their team bikes and a tent!

Joining the GCN presenting team, Conor said: "Thanks to cycling, I have been fortunate enough to meet so many incredible people and enjoy some experiences I will never forget. I am so incredibly excited to start a new chapter here at GCN. I'm looking forward to challenging myself in new ways, while continuing my love of the sport in a fresh way and I hope to be able to share this with the GCN audience."

Simon Wear, Founder and CEO of Play Sports Group, said: "I am delighted that Conor has joined us as the new presenter on the Global Cycling Network. With his riding skills, knowledge and insight, he brings new ideas and extra flair to the team. Conor's depth and diversity of racing experience helps ensure that our roster of presenters is top class and we are very pleased to welcome him on board."
