Via Küat's Own Future Forest Initiative, the company donated funds to plant more than 350,000 trees across the United States

(Springfield, MO)– America's national forests cover 193 million acres across the country and Küat, in a partnership with the National Forest Foundation, is determined to keep these lands wooded and healthy via the Future Forest Initiative. Since the inception of Küat's own Future Forest Initiative in 2015, the Missouri-based rack company, the NFF, and other key forestry organizations planted 352,875 trees using proceeds from rack sales. Those trees rehabilitate a region approximately three times the size of Central Park and offset the carbon emissions of about 800 US households. Moving forward, Küat is partnering solely with the NFF for reforestation efforts.

Küat president and co-founder Luke Kuschmeader said that this partnership aligns perfectly with Küat's principles and ethos as a company.

"Everyone at Küat is passionate about the outdoors, " said Kushmeader. "We know our customers are the same way. The Future Forest Initiative is our way of directly supporting the places that inspire us to make our products and inspire our customers."

Past reforestation projects with the NFF were focused in four regions across the United States including Ozark St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin, Flathead National Forest in Montana, and the Boise National Forest. Every year, the NFF focuses efforts on national forests in the most need. Most projects are based in areas where forest fires have severely damaged the landscape.

Under congressional charter, the NFF is the only organization specifically dedicated to the conservation and restoration of America's national forests. Wes Swaffar, director of restoration and partnerships for the NFF, said Küat's role in this project is vital.

"Küat is a strong supporter of our reforestation projects for the last four years helping us address high-priority reforestation projects," said Swaffar. "By doing so, Küat shows stewarding our public lands is important, valuable work. Küat is making a difference for our environment, and for our forest. We are grateful for Küat's continued support and look forward to our fifth year of partnership."
