TRADE IN YOUR OLD WHEELS – ANY BRAND – FOR NEW CARBON BOYD WHEELS AND HELP A YOUNG ASPIRING CYCLIST-

01 October 2020 - Greenville, SC – Boyd Cycling, makers of premium and affordable wheels, has launched its 2nd annual wheel trade-up program and includes any wheelset of any brand and in any condition for the month of October. Send Boyd Cycling your used wheels – Boyd covers the shipping - and get a sweet trade-in deal of 20% off on any carbon wheelset in any category: cyclocross, gravel, road or mountain.

Why carbon only? Namely, the pandemic - that has shaped much of the bicycle industry's spring and summer sales numbers, has increased the demand for Boyd Cycling wheels five-fold and the annual October trade-up arrived before inventory replenishment. That, however, translates into savings for cyclists on both Boyd Cycling's carbon fiber premium Podium Series wheels as well as their brand new Prologue Series wheels. Crunching numbers, this means that the regularly priced $1050 28 mm and 44 mm carbon Prologue Series road wheels – introduced just two weeks ago - can be had for just over $800.

Last year, Boyd Cycling donated more than fifty sets of wheels to juniors through their trade-in program. Launched on October 01, the 2020 program has already received a number of requests including inquiries from neighboring Canada and South America.

The Summit Freewheelers, a 33-year-old junior cycling program in Twinsburg, Ohio were the recipients of ten wheelsets last year. The Freewheeler's program Race Director, Larry Smith, commented, "Boyd has made an expensive sport obtainable with the wheel trade-in the program. My juniors get high quality used wheels that allow them to be competitive at local, regional and national events. The program in turn allows us to reallocate funding to other areas of need. This is a win-win program for juniors who receive high quality used wheels and an awesome discount for the person purchasing the best wheels on the market."

"The trade-in is open to wheels of any condition, but we really want to encourage people to trade in wheels that are in rideable condition," commented owner and name-sake, Boyd Johnson. "There are so many junior riders throughout the country who could use a set of wheels, even if those wheels are not the latest and greatest. We have contacts with development teams and shops throughout the country and are thrilled that, together with our customers and our dealers, we can all help aspiring cyclists."

The October trade-in program expands on its standard trade-up program that was previously limited to Boyd Cycling wheels only. The new program invites riders to send in any wheelset in any condition - using a prepaid shipping label - for a fresh set of carbon wheels at 20% off. All wheels will receive a QC and if deemed in good condition with no cracks, dings or dents will be donated to a junior rider in need of equipment.

Wheels can be traded in directly through Boyd Cycling's Greenville, SC facility or through their dealer network. Trading in through Boyd's dealer network also means supporting juniors in need in your respective community. Unsure if your favorite shop can help? Contact Boyd cycling here and they will direct you. Boyd's Trade in for Juniors starts today (October 1st ) and runs through the entire month. Bike shops who would like to participate in the trade in program, support local junior racers, or are interested in becoming dealers can fill out this application.
