BOULDER, COLO (March 15, 2022) — PeopleForBikes, the bicycle industry’s trade association, is extending a last-call invitation to all industry leaders to attend their upcoming Bicycle Leadership Conference, taking place March 21-23 in Dana Point, California.

Designed by bike industry leaders for bike industry leaders, PeopleForBikes hosts the Bicycle Leadership Conference as the premier event to gather, network and grow bicycling and your business. This year’s conference includes a spectacular lineup of speakers from top bike industry brands, as well as experts from outside of bicycling including the outdoor, tech and venture capital industries, all tackling the biggest opportunities and challenges facing bicycling today.

“Embracing diverse brands is imperative to a more inclusive and welcoming future for bicycling and our industry, and we look forward to sharing REI’s progress in this space,” said Chris Speyer, vice president of merchandising and co-op brands at REI and chair of the PeopleForBikes Coalition board. “We proudly invite any and all bike industry leaders to join us in Dana Point for the BLC.”

Leaders from Patagonia will share lessons from operationalizing sustainable product and business practices, how their stewardship across sustainability, climate and policy has been instrumental in their current and future growth and how you can implement their learnings at your organization.

Experts from REI will discuss their commitment to increasing the number of diverse-owned businesses and products on their shelves, their new program aimed at assisting BIPOC entrepreneurs and why these efforts are necessary to foster a more inclusive future for the bike and outdoor industries.

Legal experts from across industries will cover the existing regulatory environment surrounding electric bicycles and discuss the risks involved when product innovation outpaces regulation. This is a must-attend session for leaders of any brand associated with electric bicycles.

“From the surge in cycling during the pandemic, to electrification, to outside investment into the industry, to retail consolidation in the United States — there’s never been a more dynamic time with so much opportunity in the bike business,” said Joe Graney, CEO of Santa Cruz Bicycles and COO of Pon Bike North America. “I’m looking forward to sharing viewpoints with other industry CEOs and leaders on the current bicycle revolution.”

Other sessions will cover navigating the “Great Resignation” and the future of remote and hybrid work, keeping new riders who entered the market during the pandemic on their bikes and the changing face of ridership and diverse participation.

Inspiring keynotes, educational sessions, networking and, of course, spectacular bike rides are all on the agenda. Join more than 250 other bike industry leaders in Dana Point for this can’t-miss event to collaborate, learn and shape the future of bicycling and the bike industry.
