Madison, WI – July 18, 2025 – Planet Bike has awarded over $28,000 in grants and product to fifteen non-profit organizations across the U.S. These groups are actively expanding cycling access, championing infrastructure development, and promoting a more robust and resilient cycling culture in the U.S. through strategic education and policy efforts. The result is a more bicycle friendly America.
This year, we're also proud to support three standout organizations - Green Streets Initiative, Trenton Cycling Revolution, and the Yellow Bike Project - in celebration of our Super Commuter program. Each quarter, the program honors individuals who inspire others to discover the joy and possibility that cycling brings. These Super Commuters aren’t just committed riders—they’re engaged volunteers who actively give back through their work with these community-powered organizations.
As a member of 1% for the Planet® (an alliance of businesses that are financially committed to creating a healthy planet), Planet Bike pledges time, resources and profits that amount to 1% of annual sales. This commitment aligns with the company’s mission, values and belief that the bicycle provides powerful solutions for creating a healthier planet.
With contributions totaling over $2.7 million, to date, Planet Bike’s support is helping to develop thriving cycling organizations and equitable transportation networks across the country.

The Green Streets Initiative helps individuals, employers, and neighborhoods in the great Boston area to improve the health and vibrancy of their communities. Using innovative approaches, they encourage and inspire people to consider using active, environmentally friendly modes of travel such as walking, bicycling, and public transportation.

The Trenton Cycling Revolution is an all-volunteer community organization whose mission is to create a safe and healthy environment for bicyclists in Greater Trenton through education, engagement, advocacy and promotion. Their Community Outreach Garage (C.O.G.) is a community bike shop focused on giving folks the tools they need to access affordable and fun transportation.

The Yellow Bike Project began as a humble neighborhood effort, powered by the belief that everyone deserves the chance to move freely through Austin, TX. Over time, it has grown into a thriving hub where community members fix bikes, learn new skills, and rediscover the joy of cycling.
League of American Bicyclists - https://www.bikeleague.org/
The League of American Bicyclists represents bicyclists in the national movement to create safer roads, stronger communities, and a bicycle-friendly America. They define standards and share best practices to engage diverse communities and build a powerful, unified coast-to-coast voice for bicycling.
Youth Bike Summit - https://youthbikesummit.org/
The Youth Bike Summit (YBS) is an annual 3-day national conference built to give youth a platform for civic engagement through bicycle advocacy. The YBS is an inclusive gathering that elevates diverse perspectives across activism, job training, transportation, climate, and community resilience while championing bicycling as a catalyst for healthier communities.

The Boise Bike Project is a community focused non-profit that promotes the personal, social and environmental benefits of bicycling. They strive to build a stronger bicycling community through providing a bicycle recycling center and an educational workspace in a welcoming atmosphere. Their core programs include youth bike repair, youth bike giveaways, and adult educational programing.
Bikes for Kids WI - https://bikesforkidswi.org/
Founded in 2008 as Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison, the organization has since expanded its mission statewide and rebranded as Bike for Kids Wisconsin. By rallying community support to refurbish and donate bicycles to kids in need, they offer a simple but powerful path to health, joy, and mobility. Since inception, they've partnered with more than 169 organizations and delivered over 10,000 bikes to new riders.
Portland Gear Hub - https://portlandgearhub.org/
Portland Gear Hub’s mission is to get more youth and adults outside and active by increasing access to affordable, reliable gear. They provide a wide array of bicycle education and programming including Earn-a-Bike, Learn to Ride courses, Bikes for all Mainers and Girls' Mountain Bike Camps. They aim to lower the barrier of entry for those trying a sport for the first time or looking for an affordable mode of transportation.
Wisconsin Bike Fed – https://wisconsinbikefed.org/
The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin cultivates, motivates, and unites a strong community of citizens and business and political leaders to move bicycling forward in Wisconsin. Planet Bike’s support helps fund the Bike Fed’s community outreach, educational programming, and legislative initiatives.
