Magnum Industries, designers and manufacturers of BLACK X, the bike industry's first 'smart' locks, and OnGuard have signed an exclusive, multi-year distribution agreement with Outdoor Gear Canada (OGC) for Canada.
David Bowman, OGC's president, said, "We are taking this step after careful study and consideration and are looking forward t o beginning this new partnership. Almost 50 years ago, OGC introduced Kryptonite locks to Canada. At the time the bike market's security offerings were comprised of inexpensive chains and cables, most of which could be easily broken with the simplest of tools. Now, as 2026 begins, we believe that the time has come to introduce new
locks and technologies."
BLACK X smart bike locks will lead the industry into the next generation of bicycle security.
Designed and built by a company that specializes in security with its own design and manufacturing facilities, BLACK X offers a collection of smart bike locks for every cyclist. And to broaden its range o f quality bike locks, OGC will also begin distributing OnGuard, a sister brand to BLACK X.

OGC will begin taking orders on March 1st with inventory available for shipment immediately. Both brands will be stocked a t OGC's warehouses in Montreal and Vancouver.
