NIJMEGEN – CycleExpo 2027 is officially going ahead and will take place from 6 to 8 October 2027 at Expo Greater Amsterdam. More than six months after announcing this new initiative for a European OEM trade show for the bicycle industry, NieuwsFiets Media & Events has given CycleExpo a decisive GO.

The first deadline for the organisers was 1 October 2026, as the options on the halls at Expo Greater Amsterdam could still be cancelled free of charge until that date. “We had set ourselves the target of reaching break-even by this date, but we have not quite reached that point yet. Fortunately, the remaining financial gap is manageable enough for us to confidently give the event the GO,” says Rick Hackmann. “The decision is not based on economic considerations alone. More importantly, we have received a great deal of positive feedback over the past few months on our plan to create a dedicated meeting point near Amsterdam for the OEM business of the international bicycle industry.”

At the time the decision had to be made between GO and NO GO, almost fifty exhibitors had already booked, meaning that more than a third of the exhibition floor had already been reserved. “We are extremely grateful to those exhibitors for placing their trust in CycleExpo,” Hackmann continues. “In addition, we still have a large number of leads outstanding from companies that have already shown serious interest in participating in the trade show. That is very encouraging and strengthens our confidence that we will be meeting a clear need within the international bicycle industry.”

Early adopters of CycleExpo include suppliers such as ABUS, Ananda, AXA, Bafang, Büchel, Busch + Müller, Comodule, CST/Scalato, Dapu, Elvedes, HEBIE, KMC, Marwi, Mivice, OEM Bikes, Panasonic, Satori, Schwalbe, Selle Monte Grappa, SKS, Universal Transmissions, URSUS, Velo, Wellgo and Zenith.

CycleExpo part of a changing trade show landscape

With the developments surrounding Eurobike, the new German trade show Towards Tomorrow initiated by the Zweirad Industrie Verband, and Taichung Bike Week opting for the same dates as CycleExpo next year, the trade show landscape is clearly changing. As a result, many suppliers are still considering which trade show they will choose to attend.

“Our advantage in the market is that we focus specifically on the OEM segment of the international bicycle industry. For bicycle brands, virtually all trade shows are sales-oriented events, whereas CycleExpo will primarily be a purchasing event for them. Bicycle brands do not need to exhibit with us; they are better off attending as visitors. That is what makes our event so different. We have also chosen an approach based exclusively on Full Service Stands, allowing every company to create its own brand identity while maintaining a certain degree of uniformity across the exhibition floor and keeping costs under control,” Hackmann explains.

“The feedback we have received shows that this approach appeals to many suppliers of components and accessories. Now that we have decided to definitively move forward with CycleExpo, we will continue to step up the organisation. We have all kinds of plans to make participation in the trade show even more enjoyable for both visitors and exhibitors. The confidence the market has shown in us so far gives us a great deal of energy to turn CycleExpo into a fantastic event.”
