• Over 1,300 cyclists heading out from the Los Angeles Police Academy in Elysian Park on a ride of Los Angeles. After the ride there will be a finish line festival with lunch and a huge raffle.
• Two rides will be offered: a recreational ride at a moderate 10-12mph pace that is 34 miles and an advanced ride at a more aggressive pace of 15–17 mph that is 47 miles.
• Both groups will be led by LAPD special event motors and bicycle patrols in a “rolling closure”.
• Blood drive for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles at LA Police Academy begins at 10:00am. For appointments call CHLA blood donor center at 323-361-2441
• Proceeds benefit the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles bloodmobile fund. (In the past four years, the Fun Ride has helped raise more than $200,000 toward the purchase & operation of the “Maxmobile” bloodmobile, which will be appearing at the Fun Ride.)
• Goal is to purchase a new box van support vehicle for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles’ blood donor center to use on larger off-site blood drives.
• The ride passes more than 65 scenic, cultural and historic landmarks including: Echo Park Lake, Downtown LA, Disney Center, Little Tokyo, City Hall, Toy District, MOCA, Olvera Street, Staples Center, Coliseum, USC, South LA, East LA, Chinatown, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, Forest Lawn, Travel Town, LA Zoo, Griffith Park, Lincoln Heights, Elysian Park, and much, much more!
