Published November 22, 2019

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — James "Jimmy" Neuhoefer passed away Friday at 89, according to Kent Bicycles, where he was a sales rep for many years.

Neuhoefer emigrated to the United States from Germany as a young boy and served with honor as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War.

He worked for many years as a salesman for Coleman Hirschman and sold Huffy Bikes for more than 20 years. He left Coleman Hirschman in 1982 and started a rep firm with Monte Malkiel. Kent Bicycles was one of their first lines and he worked with Monte for more than 15 years. After that, he briefly retired but decided to come back and work 20 years ago. He represented Kent for a small territory until two years ago.

"He was like a member of the family to all of us at Kent and we will miss him dearly," said Arnold Kamler, Kent's chairman and CEO.
