BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Tim Patterson, the President and Chairman of the Board of Project Bike Tech, passed away on July 12, 2021. He was 66 years old.

"The loss to all of us, especially his dear friends, is huge," said Project Bike Tech Executive Director Mercedes Ross. "Tim brought such a renegade spirit and amazing quality in pushing PBT to new heights. He has been nothing short of amazing. Tim was also just the best human—so kind, thoughtful, gracious and fun."

Patterson began his career in the outdoor industry, specializing in skiing and mountain sports. He soon ventured into other realms, but he maintained an ardent interest in the outdoor and sports and recreation industry.

"We were so lucky to have Tim on our Board," said Berri Michel, PBT's founder. "He brought a wealth of business experience and a love of helping people, which is the core mission of Project Bike Tech. We will always be thankful for his hard work and sage guidance."

Patterson is survived by his ex-wife Andrea and two sons, Malcolm and TJ, as well as his 90-year-old mother and two siblings. A memorial service will be held on August 29 in Boulder.

Project Bike Tech will announce an Interim Board Chair in the coming weeks.
