The Big Gear Show to use mid-mountain space in 2022

Published November 19, 2021

PARK CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — The Big Gear Show, which held its inaugural trade event at Park City’s Deer Valley Resort in August, will hold its second show there Aug. 2-3, 2022, organizers say.

Next year the show will feature a two-day format, which organizers said 2021 attendees requested.

“After reviewing hundreds of post-show survey results, we’ve found that our multi-segment community wanted us to do another show and they want it to be over the course of two complete days, rather than three shorter days,” said bike show director, Lance Camisasca.

The post-show survey was conducted shortly after the 2021 show to poll attendees on their preferences for future years. The survey was sent to 421 retailer attendees and 206 exhibiting brands.

In another change, in 2022 the event will have use of Deer Valley Resort's mid-mountain area, reachable by chairlift. The mid-mountain area is well known to many in the bike industry because it has been the venue for several bike brand dealer camps and other events. It offers quick access to lifts for mountain bike demos. The show also will use the Silver Lake Lodge at mid-mountain for indoor events. The show also will continue to the lower-level parking lot area for some exhibitors, and the nearby ponds for paddlesport demos.

Organizers are predicting a much larger event in 2022, with as many as 1,000 retail buyers and 500 brands. The 2021 event had about 200 brands, including bike, outdoor and paddlesport vendors. The National Bicycle Dealers Association continues to endorse the show for 2022 and PeopleForBikes will be a major sponsor, as well.
